However, it certainly looks a cut above the ill-fated Sonic the Hedgehog 4. Whether Sonic Superstars will hold up to the high bar of quality set by Sonic Mania remains to be seen. Meanwhile, Sonic's been lighting up the silver screen with two successful movies, the well-received Sonic Prime on Netflix and the upcoming Knuckles spin-off TV show. Sonic Origins, while a flawed collection, introduced new fans to the hedgehog's original games. Sonic Frontiers impressed with its bold new direction.
It's been a massive few years for Sonic as the franchise finally seems to have found its footing again.
